Resistance microwelding is a derivative application of resistance welding, possibly better known as spot welding. This technology enables you to weld two metal components together, whether they are of the same metal or not. The weld is made by passing a high electrical current through the parts to assemble.

To use resistance welding to join two components, they must both be made of metal. The principle of resistance welding is based on physical properties:

  • The electrical conductivity of metals (resistive value). The more resistive the metal parts are, the more their temperature will rise.
  • The fusion temperature of the metals that are to be joined together. The Joule effect generated by the current enables the parts to fuse together where they meet
